The Action Mechanism of Bile Acids on Improving the Fertility Rate Hatching Rate and Healthy Chick Rate of Breeders

Nutritional factors such as vitamins, mineral elements and fat in the feed will affect the quality of semen. Bile acids can evfectively promote the absorption of fat and fat-soluble microorganisms, especially the absorption of VD3. And the absorption of VD3 can promote the absorption of Ca in the feed, increase the content of Ca2+ in the plasma of the body, thereby improving the sperm motility, improving the fertilization rate and improving the reproductive performance of the breeder.

VD3 is converted into 25-OH-D3 in the body, and these nutrients are transmitted to the hatching eggs with the breeders, increasing the level of nutrients in the hatching egg, especially 25-OH-D3 which can significantly reduce the early embryo mortalityimprove the qualification rate and hatching rate of the hatching eggs, provide more nutrients for the chicks, and ultimately improve the healthy chick rate.

I mentioned above that bile acids can promote the absorption of fat. The bile acid molecule contains both hydrophilic hydroxyl group and carboxyl group, as well as lipophilic alkyl group, so that the bile acid has a strong surface activity, can reduce the surface tension between oil and water, promote the emulsification of oil, expand the contact area of oil and lipase, and prepare for the oil to be fully digested. Bile acids not only assist lipase, but also enhance the activity of lipase. The function of lipase is best when the pH is 8-9. However, in the front of the small intestine, the pH is 6-7, where the lipase actually doesn't work. When the lipase forms a complex with bile acids, the properties of the lipase change and work in the small intestine with a pH of 6-7. Meanwhile, bile acids cluster around the products of fat digestion to form structures called micelles, which help the fats get close enough to the microvilli of intestinal cells so that they can be absorbed.

Below is a diagram showing the action mechanism of bile acids on laying hens and breeders:
